Graphic Design Specialist
TerraPower’s Graphic Design Specialist will play a central role in bringing our story to life through compelling and engaging visual communications. This role will report to the Director of Communications and Marketing and be responsible for developing high-quality visual content that supports corporate communications, brand management, digital marketing, recruiting, executive presentations, events, and stakeholder engagement.
This role is ideal for a versatile designer with strong creative instincts, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging visuals. The successful candidate will work closely with communications, marketing, business leaders, subject matter experts, and external vendors to create impactful visual assets that strengthen our brand and support business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop visually compelling designs across print, digital, social media, web, video, and presentation formats.
- Maintain and evolve the company’s visual identity standards and brand guidelines.
- Ensure consistency and quality across all communications materials and touchpoints.
- Coordinate with vendors and production partners to ensure high-quality execution.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand objectives, gather requirements, and deliver creative solutions.
- Organize and maintain digital asset libraries and design templates.
- Design event branding, signage, exhibits, trade show materials, environmental graphics, and promotional items.
- Collaborate with content creators to develop visual storytelling approaches that drive engagement.
- Create and optimize graphics for multiple digital platforms while maintaining brand consistency.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to elevate the organization’s engagement strategy.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in-house or within a corporate environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, or related field.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across print, digital, presentation, and brand design.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Knowledge of motion graphics, animation, or video editing tools.
- Experience creating executive-level PowerPoint presentations and visual storytelling materials.
- Experience creating data visualizations and technical illustrations.
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts through clear and engaging design.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
- Proactive self-starter and team player with strong project execution focus, ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet emergent deadlines and execute a myriad of projects on time.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for major projects.
Preferred
- Experience supporting communications, marketing, or public affairs teams.
- Experience working in energy, infrastructure, technology, engineering, manufacturing, or other highly technical industries.
- Knowledge of motion graphics, animation, or video editing tools.
- Familiarity with web design principles and digital content management systems.

TerraPower’s technology is controlled for export by various agencies of the U.S. Government. Job details
Salary Range: $97,517 - $126,646
*Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
