The Contribution You’ll Bring to this Role:
As an Inventory Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting daily receiving, shipping, inventory control, and purchasing activities. You will help ensure raw materials and finished goods are accurately received, recorded, stored, and shipped while supporting the Purchasing Manager with procurement activities. Through strong attention to detail, timely communication, and accurate recordkeeping, you will help maintain material availability and support efficient production operations.
About the Team
You will work closely with the Purchasing Manager and partner with Production, Warehouse, Accounting, suppliers, freight carriers, and other internal teams to maintain accurate inventory, coordinate material flow, and support on-time production and customer requirements.
What You'll Do at Justrite
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming raw materials and supplies against purchase orders and packing slips.
Enter receiving transactions into the inventory management system accurately and promptly.
Report and document damaged, incorrect, or missing materials and assist with timely resolution.
Maintain organized storage locations, accurate inventory labeling, and proper material identification.
Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations to support inventory accuracy.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate potential shortages, excess inventory, or material concerns to management.
Prepare and package outgoing shipments in accordance with customer and company requirements.
Coordinate daily shipments with transportation providers and freight carriers; prepare bills of lading, packing slips, and related shipping documentation.
Track shipments and assist with resolving transportation or delivery issues as needed.
Assist the Purchasing Manager with the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies.
Create and process purchase orders based on inventory requirements and production schedules.
Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, delivery schedules, and shipment status.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information while supporting supplier performance tracking and reporting.
Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing options.
Generate inventory and purchasing reports as requested and maintain accurate receiving, shipping, inventory, and purchasing records.
Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Accounting to support efficient operations and material availability.
Follow company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Skills & Expertise
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
Experience in inventory control, receiving, shipping, purchasing support, warehouse operations, or a related environment.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and transactional data.
Effective organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience with ERP, MRP, inventory management, or purchasing systems.
Knowledge of purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips, freight coordination, and inventory reconciliation.
Experience communicating with suppliers, freight carriers, and internal production teams.

On-time receiving and shipping performance.

Supplier delivery performance.
Material availability for production.
Cycle count and inventory reconciliation results.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in both office and warehouse/manufacturing environments.
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work with regular standing and walking.
Occasional bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Ability to safely navigate warehouse and production areas as required.
Compensation:
This position offers a competitive Salaried wage ranging from $20-24/hr based on experience and qualifications. Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as but not limited to location, relevant experience and performance.
