About the role
In this role, you will administer and improve the SaaS platforms that power productivity, collaboration, identity, and employee access across a global organization of approximately 2,000 users. You will own day-to-day platform administration for core services such as Google Workspace, Slack, ChatGPT, Glean, and Zoom, and partner closely with Identity and Access Management, Security, IT Support, People, Procurement, and application owners to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable employee technology services.
- You will configure SaaS applications for enterprise use, connect applications to Okta using standards such as SAML and SCIM where supported, troubleshoot provisioning and authentication issues, manage roles and licensing, support employee lifecycle workflows, and automate repetitive administration. This role is a technical escalation point for SaaS and access issues and is expected to improve systems through strong documentation, operational discipline, and continuous automation.
- You partner with the Identify Access Management team on the joiner, mover, and leaver workflows across SaaS applications and work to make provisioning and deprovisioning accurate, timely, auditable, and increasingly automated.
- You will apply role-based access control and least privilege principles, participate in periodic access reviews, and partner with Security and Compliance teams on audit evidence, policy enforcement, and remediation.
- You will demonstrate proficiency in writing scripts (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or JavaScript) and leveraging REST APIs and webhooks to build, automate, and scale complex SaaS integrations and identity workflows.
- You monitor platform health, vendor changes, service incidents, license utilization, and administrative risk, and you communicate planned changes and outages clearly to stakeholders and support teams.
- You will provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for SaaS, identity, permissions, and integration issues, using structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis rather than relying on manual workarounds.
- You create and maintain clear runbooks, configuration standards, support documentation, ownership records, and operational procedures so services can be supported consistently at enterprise scale.
- You will work effectively with application owners and vendors to evaluate new SaaS capabilities, coordinate onboarding and security review requirements, implement integrations, test changes, and transition services into steady state operations.
- You will communicate with both technical and non-technical partners and can balance employee experience, security, reliability, and operational efficiency when making administration decisions.
In the role of Senior IT Engineer, you will report to the Senior Director of IT. We are considering applicants for the location of Los Angeles, CA (in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).
About You
We get excited about candidates, like you, because...
- You have 8+ years of progressive experience in Corporate IT, IT Engineering, Systems Administration, Enterprise Applications, or SaaS administration, ideally supporting a distributed organization of at least 1,000+ users.
- You have hands-on experience administering Okta or a comparable enterprise identity provider, including application integrations, SSO, MFA, group and role assignments, lifecycle management, and troubleshooting authentication and provisioning issues.
- You have experience integrating SaaS applications with Okta using SAML 2.0, OIDC, and SCIM, and you understand common federation concepts such as attribute mappings, group assignments, claims, certificates, provisioning connectors, and least privilege access.
- You have strong administrator level experience with Google Workspace, including users, groups, organizational units, delegated administration, security settings, sharing controls, licensing, and audit or reporting capabilities.
- You have administered enterprise collaboration and productivity platforms such as Slack Enterprise Grid, Zoom, ChatGPT Enterprise, and Glean, including tenant configuration, user and group management, permissions, integrations, retention or governance settings, and license management.
