Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build and support data solutions that power business decisions. In this role, you will work closely with business and technical teams to understand requirements, design data solutions, develop data pipelines, and support large-scale data platforms. You will use technologies such as Databricks, Spark, PySpark, Teradata, AWS, and Ab Initio to deliver reliable, high-performing data products. You will also participate in Agile teams and help maintain production systems.Responsibilities:
- Partner with business and technical leaders to understand data and reporting needs.
- Design and document data solutions that meet business requirements.
- Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT processes using Spark and PySpark.
- Build and support data models to meet business and analytical needs.
- Write and optimize SQL queries using Teradata SQL, Hive SQL, and Spark SQL.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines in Databricks and cloud environments.
- Create and support DevOps deployment processes using tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
- Build and manage Databricks job scheduling and orchestration processes.
- Monitor production jobs, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Support data warehouse and data lake solutions in Databricks.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with team members to improve data quality, performance, and reliability.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong experience developing with Spark, PySpark, Teradata, and Databricks.
- Experience with Ab Initio.
- Strong SQL skills, including Teradata SQL, Hive SQL, Spark SQL, and stored procedures.
- Experience implementing and supporting data warehouse and data lake solutions.
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Experience working with AWS services including S3, EC2, SNS, SQS, Lambda, ECS, Glue, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with Databricks features such as Delta Lake, Notebooks, Pipelines, Cluster Management, and cloud integrations.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the healthcare industry.
- Experience leading technical solutions and driving complex data initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 130,200 - 217,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
