Sr. Director, Card Partnerships- Head of Customer Communications Delivery & Operational Strategy

As a Senior Director Project Manager at Capital One, you will create strategy and lead a team through high priority projects for the company. You will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You lead important and exciting projects from day one, working alongside key stakeholders across the company.

This role is in the Card Partnerships business segment within Capital One’s Card line of business which included consumer and commercial co-brand, PLCC and trade credit products.

As part of the Card Partnerships Business Segment, you’ll be our Head of Customer Communications and Operational Strategy. This role includes key areas of focus such as: 1) lead Operational Strategy and transformation for Partnerships Marketing Operations; 2) own our well managed prioritization and delivery of all servicing and marketing collateral (internal and external); and, 3) lead a team running the delivery operation.

Leveraging your Operational Strategy skill-set, you’ll be responsible for building out our destination for marketing operations and transforming this end to end operation while influencing product, tech and enterprise roadmaps. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Defining the multi-year strategic objectives and roadmap for the Partnerships agenda, translating executive intent into executable programs and initiatives.

- Leading moderate to large sized teams to drive complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction.

- Designing, developing, and managing projects in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements

- Ensuring projects are being delivered on time and on budget within a challenging environment while simultaneously managing risk

- Owning executive-level communications, roadmaps, and reporting to provide transparency on progress, key risks, and resource requirements to senior leadership.

- Establishing and maintaining robust engagement models with key stakeholders, including dedicated partners, legal/compliance, technology leads, and business operations as well as Accountable Executives to align on decisions

- Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

- Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments and our well managed obligations

- Directing the design and implementation of workflow solutions to drive consistency and efficiency across the Partnerships delivery environment.

- Driving continuous improvement in risk management practices by challenging existing processes and leveraging data, technology, and industry best practices.

Here’s what we’re looking for in an ideal leader:

- You are a proven strategic leader who can define a vision, mobilize resources, and deliver measurable results in a highly regulated environment.

- You possess executive maturity and exceptional communication skills, capable of simplifying complex project concepts for business audiences and influencing outcomes without direct authority.

- You have a strong track record of building, coaching, and managing high-performing teams.

- You exhibit a deep understanding of financial services including products, risks, and operations.

- You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, making high-stakes decisions, and prioritizing ruthlessly in a dynamic business context.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

- At least 7 years of Project Management experience

- At least 3 years of Financial Services experience

- At least 3 years of People Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- Masters degree

- 10+ years of Project Management experience

- 5+ years of Financial Services experience

- 5+ years of People Management experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $238,700 - $272,400 for Sr. Director, Project Mgmt

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
