About the Role:
As a Firmware Validation Engineer at SK hynix memory solutions, you will drive enterprise SSD (eSSD) validation activities, with responsibilities including:
- Test Architecture & Development: Design, develop, and execute automated test suites to validate industry-standard specifications and internal firmware algorithms.
- Failure Analysis & Triage: Review weekly regression failures, perform deep-dive triages, and collaborate closely with internal engineering teams to resolve firmware defects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate as a principal contributor within the eSSD core development group to validate hardware readiness for crucial customer qualification cycles.
- Formulate rigorous, comprehensive test methodologies utilizing advanced internal and external simulation tools.
- Partner cross-functionally with firmware engineers to extract requirements and develop high-coverage white-box validation suites.
- Rapidly develop and implement scalable test cases dedicated to validating new firmware capabilities.
- Take complete ownership of regression test execution, orchestrating deep-dive issue triages and delivering precise failure analytics to stakeholders.
Minimum Qualification:
- Ability to do thorough analysis of test failures and skilled in problem recreation.
- Good programmer with experience in scripting languages like JavaScript or python.
- Good understanding of AI development tools.
- Fast learner with good communication skills.
- Must be proactive and a strong team player.
Education & Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field with:
- B.S. and 4+ years of relevant experience, OR
- M.S. and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in storage firmware test development (design/develop/validate).
- Solid understanding of PCIE-NVMe storage protocol/specifications.
- Experience with AI tool development
COMPENSATION: $110,000/yr - $175,000/yr
