Position Summary

- The Infotainment Triage Engineer is responsible for the initial investigation, diagnosis, prioritization, and coordination of software and hardware issues affecting vehicle infotainment systems.

- This role serves as the first level of technical analysis for issues reported during development, validation, launch, and post-production phases.

- The engineer works across multiple infotainment domains including QNX, Android-based platforms, connectivity, diagnostics, CAN communications, cybersecurity interfaces, telematics, and cloud-connected services.

- The objective is to rapidly identify root cause ownership, drive issue resolution, and ensure high-quality customer experiences across Client infotainment products.

Key Responsibilities
Issue Triage & Investigation

- Analyze and prioritize infotainment-related issues reported by validation teams, integration teams, suppliers, manufacturing, dealerships, and customers.

- Perform initial root cause investigations and determine ownership of defects.

- Review logs, traces, system dumps, and diagnostic information.

- Reproduce issues in bench and vehicle environments.

- Support defect tracking and escalation processes.

- Manage critical issue prioritization during vehicle development and launch phases.

Technical Troubleshooting

- Investigate issues related to:

- Infotainment systems

- Android Automotive platforms

- QNX-based platforms

- Multimedia applications

- Navigation systems

- Connectivity services

- Voice recognition systems

- Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, and smartphone integration

- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

- Over-the-Air (OTA) updates

- Telematics and cloud services

- Utilize systematic troubleshooting methodologies to isolate software, hardware, network, or integration failures.

Communication Networks & Connectivity

- Analyze vehicle communication issues involving:

- CAN

- CAN FD

- Ethernet

- LIN

- SOME/IP

- DoIP

- Diagnostic communication protocols

- Support investigation of communication between:

- Head Unit

- Telematics Control Unit (TCU)

- Instrument Cluster

- Gateway Modules

- Mobile Devices

- Backend Cloud Services

Diagnostics & Log Analysis

- Perform diagnostic activities using OEM and industry-standard tools.

- Analyze:

- DTCs

- CAN logs

- Network traces

- Android logcat files

- QNX system logs

- Crash dumps

- Performance traces

- Support UDS and DoIP diagnostic activities.

- Validate software fixes and corrective actions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Coordinate with:

- Software development teams

- System architects

- Integration teams

- Validation teams

- Suppliers

- Program management

- Connectivity and cloud teams

- Ensure clear communication of issue status, technical findings, and risk assessments.

Continuous Improvement

- Develop troubleshooting guides and triage procedures.

- Improve issue detection and diagnosis efficiency.

- Support lessons learned and root cause prevention activities.

- Contribute to quality and reliability improvements across infotainment programs.

Required Qualifications
Education

- Bachelor's Degree in:

- Electrical Engineering

- Computer Engineering

- Computer Science

- Software Engineering

- Related technical discipline

Experience

- 3+ years of experience in automotive embedded systems, infotainment, connectivity, or software integration.

- Experience with automotive development processes and issue tracking systems.
