Our Sales Engineering team in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer focuses on helping our current and prospective clients maximize the technology solutions that Jack Henry offers. We accomplish this by maintaining a mock financial institution environment, and building integrations and proof of concepts within it. This is where you come in! This role is the best of multiple worlds: identifying client needs, ideating with your colleagues and creating examples of the solution to share during the sales and relationship process. Then, be hands on in the environment by seeing it come to life through collaboration in our nimble, multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts. By being on the front line to interactions with our clients, you’ll provide immeasurably valuable feedback to the development and design teams on what the industry needs and wants and contribute to the future of the Jack Henry offerings. You’ll be working with clients and your team a majority of the time, which means this role has an approximately 50% travel requirement based on the needs of the clients, prospects and teams. Your day-to-day and week-to-week schedule will vary to strategic company goals and sales and marketing targets and allows flexibility to ensure you are working at your most creative times.
This position may be worked remotely within the United States, with the exception of California.

What you’ll be responsible for:

- Effectively discusses and positions Jack Henry products and solutions by demonstrating an in-depth understanding of company products, functions, features and benefits to both business and technical users.

- Participate in and manage intersystem and microservices implementations and installations for internal systems, so that you and your team can present functionality accurately and build proof of concepts for prospective, current and internal clients.

- Lead contributor to account solution definition and review of customer operations for improving business process opportunities. Performs customer needs assessments and solutions finding sessions.

- Understands and documents, through due diligence efforts, customer requirements, and conveys requirements to Product Management teams. Documents interactions and processes effectively and thoroughly.

- Identifies all technical issues of assigned accounts, and manages customer expectations, to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Ensures feedback reaches appropriate levels of account management as well as product management.

- Designs and coordinates product presentations based on the necessities and competitive sales environment. Provides specifications and quotes to prospective clients and responds to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.

- Improves product specification layout and detail according to the distinguishing features of a company product.

- Identifies product capability gaps or functionality limitations to define alternatives using partners, product enhancements, etc.

- Conceptualizes and communicates how company products and services affect opportunities and sales exposure within the organization.

- Participates at user groups, conferences, tradeshows, and other events as required by Sales Management and Product Marketing.

- May perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:

- Minimum of 18 months of hand on experience in a technical field, including software engineering, software development, systems analysis, business analysis, technical project management, network engineering, computer information systems.

- 50% travel required.

- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.

What would be nice for you to have:

- Hands on experience working at, or with, financial institutions or fintechs.

- Experience understanding and documenting client requirements, with aptitude in recommending products to fit the needs of a client’s technology journey.

- Experience in some of the following tech stacks:
- Cloud technologies like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform, including Microsoft SQL, BigQuery, Looker Studio, Spanner, Google SQL and Vertex AI.

- UNIX or AIX experience a plus.

- Experience working with Jack Henry’s Symitar Core System and/or Banno Platform stack a huge plus.
